07/07/2010 - How to find the right ladies fit!
In the apparel industry sizing is not regulated. One brand’s size Large is
another brand’s size X-Large. Various brands will have different fits, even
if they’re the items are similar looking.
Garment measurements tend to be smaller and won’t
lead to a good fit if you are comparing it to body measurements. For example, if the garment measures 36” in the chest, it won’t fit a woman with a 36” chest. She would need a 38”. We suggest that you measure a piece of clothing that you know fits well and compare it to our specs sheet. When ordering, ask if it is a junior fit or a
ladies fit. Many products in our industry are junior fit, which is ideal for
females aged 13-21. These shirts are cut smaller and often shorter. If you are ordering for older women, make sure you get a ladies fit.
Make a good fabric choice – Today’s new stretch fabrics offer wonderful
versatility for women. They are comfortable, easy to care for and great
to travel with. Just remember that they can look terrible if they’re too
tight. It’s much better to order one size larger; the end result will be
far more flattering.
